Geophysical Survey Project Manager

Ondine Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geophysical Survey Project Manager to join our team. As a Geophysical Survey Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing geophysical investigations primarily in offshore environments. This is a crucial role that requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and exceptional project management skills. The Geophysical Project Manager will report to their line manager and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Pre-Mobilisation Preparations:

Coordinate and oversee all necessary preparations for fieldwork, ensuring proper mobilization of resources, equipment, and personnel.

Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

  • On-Site Management:

Directly manage geophysical investigations on-site, both offshore and occasionally onshore, to ensure adherence to project specifications and safety protocols.

Provide technical guidance and support to field teams, ensuring efficient and accurate data acquisition.

  • Client Interface:

Act as the primary point of contact for clients during project fieldwork, addressing any concerns, providing progress updates, and ensuring client satisfaction.

Establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients, fostering long-term partnerships.

  • Contract Implementation and Compliance:

Ensure the implementation of project contracts and deliverables, including adherence to specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.

Collaborate with the supply chain to procure necessary equipment and services, managing vendor relationships and ensuring timely delivery.

Oversee and manage contractors involved in geophysical investigations, ensuring their compliance with project requirements and safety standards.

  • Reporting and Analysis:

Oversee the timely issuance of field-generated operations and geophysical reports, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with project objectives.

Perform or approve field-based preliminary engineering analyses, utilizing geophysical data to derive actionable insights.

  • Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities:

Take a leadership role in all project-related QHSE matters, promoting a safe and efficient working environment.

Collaborate closely with the QHSE department to ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines and regulations.

Conduct incident reporting, facilitate safety meetings and training, and monitor permits to work, toolbox meetings, TOFS, and OBS-card tracking.

  • Project Quality Assurance:

Ensure the delivery of high-quality services to internal and external clients, maintaining strong relationships and meeting or exceeding their expectations.

Uphold the company’s commitment to excellence, continuously improving project management processes and implementing best practices.

  • Project Closeout:

Manage the closeout process for all project phases, ensuring the completion of necessary documentation, evaluation of project outcomes, and lessons learned.

  • Additional Responsibilities:

Undertake any other duties deemed necessary within the bounds of your competence and function, as assigned by your line manager.

  • Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in geophysics, geosciences, or a related field and or proven experience in managing geophysical projects, preferably with offshore experience.
  • Strong knowledge of geophysical investigation techniques, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Excellent project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and resource management.
  • Proficient in using geophysical software and tools.
  • Effective communication and client management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in dealing with supply chain management, procurement, and contractor management.
  • Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental practices.
